The Computer Science department has a systems administrator who provides support for Linux workstations. Bill Jojo is located in CIS 240A. Typical hours of availability are from 7:30 am until 3:30 pm. He can also be reached at wjojo@skidmore.edu.
To access workstations and servers managed by the computer science department, you must acquire a separate account. Your Skidmore credentials will not work for logging in to the Linux systems.
Accounts are typically provided at the beginning of the semester through your instructor when the lab is scheduled in CIS 237.
New for Fall 2025!
We have changed our authentication system. If you are a returning student, you will receive a new password in class. The workstations in CIS-237 and the Student Lounge locations are using the new system. The remainder of the workstations (CIS-350, etc) are being converted over and will be completed by the end of the second week of classes.
